Awww, sorry to hear about the stick insects.
It's not looking good for Rocky the hamster either, we haven't heard any scrabbling at all since Sunday.
Buffy, give the snails a kiss from me!

Linda have you tried the Bucket Trick?
Put food in a bucket - some thing fresh and quite strong smelling? like cucumber? (hamsters love that)
Build a stack of books up the side of the bucket (stairs) so that the hamster will be able to get to the food - he drops in the bucket and can't get out.
I wouldn't worry too much about not hearing anything, the longer they are out the more quiet they become - adapting to their new surroundings and completely knackered cos they are hunting for food. (also don't you have a cat?)
try that leave as many doors open as you can. The lure of fresh food can wonders!Nevertheless she persisted.0 -
I dont think they're that big on snails Buffy, but thanks anyway
Linda, I hope Rocky returns hun. Try the food trick Buffy suggested.
The kids have been out and buried the stickies in the pouring rain. DS is still crying. Am wondering about going out to get replacementsIs it better to aim for the stars and hit a tree or aim for a tree and land in its branches :think:Loves being a Wonderbra friend :kisses3:

Yes we've tried that, left food out and the bucket.
We always leave doors open anyway, I hate them being shut - I know, I'm wierd
We've left the immersion heater cupboard open too because there are holes in the floor where he could get through.
I'm not worried about the cats, they're scared of the hamster and they are both 20 years old so not very quick off the mark.
I'll put some cucumber out today

Could they have died of something in the tank? Better give it a good clean out before buying more

Morning all!
I've actually gone into uni today and I'm feeling much better for it. It's raining here and quite cold, though that's probably because I rushed out in just a t-shirt this morning. I'm killing time before my meeting with Myra and then going home and maybe getting some shopping done. I didn't sleep well last night but I'm going to try and push through regardless.
It's been a little bit of a sad day, the 3rd years just had their last ever lecture so I said goodbye to some of them. There was a few tears from one who's apparently the 2nd part time student to finish her degree in Catherine's (our tutor) 20 years of teaching here. She's in her 60s and left school with no qualifications at all. She used to show me up half the time, had always done the reading and I hadn't.I really am pleased for her, I hope she does well.
