Advice From A NewlyWed

Hi all,
We just got married in a tiny £500 wedding. Everything was wonderful but we learned a few valuable lessons:
* I decided to do my own flowers and left the assembly til the morning of the wedding. Even though I'd practised it took longer than I'd estimated and I had to rush. For one bridal bouquet, one big corsage and three buttonholes allow one hour.
* If you're having a tiny wedding make sure you have a back-up witness so that if one of your witnesses drops out a fortnight before there is someone ready to step in.
* Make sure your cake boxes are big enough. We ended up sticking two together for each slice.
* If you have temperamental teeth see a dentist two months before the wedding so that you're less likely to develop raging toothache the night before the big day. (Luckily this didn't happen to us, but it was a close call!)
* If you shop around and use Freecycle you can cut High Street costs in half, at least.
*Use lots of suncream if you go on a sunny honeymoon. I came back part-cremated from the Scottish Borders!
Hope this helps someone.

I did my own flowers the night before and left them in the fridge. I gave them a misting of water after I had tied them and another just before bed time. They were absolutely fine.0
