advice needed...DESPERATELY!!!!!

Hello all,
I am new here, have had a few MS newsletters which seemed to have good idea's but I feel I need some immediate advice......
I am on the brink of bankruptcy, but don't want to go that way if I can do anything to avoid it.
I have SOOO much debt it makes my head spin..... A lavish lifestyle....... Irresponsible spending........Too many cards......A couple of loans and a mortgage.....
I am so bad at money management (stupid at my age, 41 ,don't think I ever grew up!), but I REALLY want to get myself out of the pit I am in.
I'm on disability at the moment due to a chronic illness, my repayments are too much and what seemed like good interest rates to reduce monthly costs have gone out the window since I separated from my partner, as I have been using my cards again to live on.
Am seemingly at the end of the road, on the brink of bankruptcy, and I have an abhorrence of the mere thought of it.
Can't spend anymore as up to my limit on everything since separation, credit score crashed after repeated missed payments, and at limit of overdraft!
What can I do to help myself get straight........WITHOUT going bankrupt?
Any advice greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Hello Brink - welcome to MSE!!
You have come to the right place so well done!! The first step is usually the hardest!!
If you could, could you prepare a SOA (statement of affairs), basically details of your incomings and ALL of your outgoings - rent/gas/water/elec/car and also all of your debts - including who they are with, the balance, the APR & your monthly repayment!!
If you are on disability then the creditors basically cant take money you dont have, but you do need to be honest & up front with them & keep them informed of your situation.
Have you only just split with your partner? Do you have children? If you could post some more information we'll do our best to help.
