would i be able to get a mortgage

probably the one billionth person to ask :P

can i get a mortgage or, just as good a shared mortgage with my parents of around £90k-100k

personal situation;
age 20
only been working since oct 2008
had my first debit card in 2007
salary 20k rising to 21k (postman)
saved £9k
Savings Target: 100K by 2015

Current Savings: £81,429,04 (Since starting my job as a postman - October 2008)

    If we're talking on salary multiples, probably not. I think it is only about 3.5 salary, which with only 10% deposit leaves you with a shortfall. However, you would be best visiting a whole of market broker for advice.

    I don't see why you wouldn't be able to get a mortgage, I believe the max mortgage is a 5x salary mortgage but i think these are more rare these days. It would also depend on whether you have a deposit too, obviously the more deposit the more it will help your cause.

    thanks guys, so there isnt any minimum length requirement for how long your suposed to be working/maintaining an income before you can obtain a mortgage

    a few years ago when i applied for a loan i had only been in my new job a few months and they declind me because i hadn't been in the same job more than 6 months. I had to get my employer to write to them to back up my application and it was referred and thankfully they accepted me. I think all lenders have different criteria and the only way you will find out if you give it a go. You might also be a low credit scoreing because you haven't had much credit to show lenders if you are a good in paying the agreement back.
