Which Coffee Machine

Got a friend in America who is moving house and I am thinking of getting him a coffee machine as a house warming gif. Can anyone recommend one for about £150/ $200 delivered. Are the machines that use the pods like Tassimo/Dolce Gusto any good?

We have the dolce gusto and it's fab! my husband is the coffee drinker and i love hot chocolate. All the variaties are really nice and so quick and easy to make too.0
