Have you bothered to read the relevant page on Moneysavingexpert.com?
If you haven't got the right credit card already, you're probably too late to get one.
  • Yes i did i thought this was the whole point of the forum was to ask other interested people their advise and opinions sorry i bothered now with a answer like that:money:

Don't be so nasty!! It wasn't so long ago you where considered a newbie and needed direction

OP to be honest is there such a thing as a good rate at the moment?! I tend to stick with either the local credit union or the post office. I'm sure there is better deals to be had though

Credit union usually gives best deal when you want euroland money, for hole in the wall access the nationwides flexaccount is hard to beat as you get the bank exchange rate and not the tourist rate, same should apply to most credit cards. Greece is fairly pricey so you defo want to get as good a rate as possible.

Check out M&S exchange, there is one in the Belfast city centre branch or you can order currency online.

Have a look at the travel money maximiser on this website, click on the Travel/Transport tab at the top of the page. Travelex are pretty good at the minute and if you're near Belfast you can collect your Euros there which is their cheapest option. You do have to pay online and may have to pay a cash transaction fee to your bank for doing it, which really annoyed me when I discovered that.

If you know a pensioner take them to their bank and ask them to get it for you as they usually don't pay commission- I know Ulster Bank do this as I take my granny when I'm going away

Or Northern Bank don't charge commission for students or graduates up to 27
