Hi All
We just bought a Chocolate Fountain for our daughters birthday this week, and are a little surprised as to the cost for running it. It seems we will need to use at least 2 kg of chocolate.
Does anyone know of any good offers where I could buy from?? I have looked around and there are some good offers on ebay buy I dont want to risk it not arriving on time.
Plus does anyone know if normal cheap supermarket chocolate tastes a lot different than Belgian Couverture in a fountain?
Many Thanks

I'd be tempted to use the best chocolate you can afford. Having said that, some of the supermarket own chocolate is good - I have used both Sainsbury's and Tesco's. If it's milk, make sure it has a reasonable amount of cocoa solids. Cadbury's has a minimum of 20%, for example. If you go to www. mysupermarket.co.uk you can see if there are any good supermarket offers at the moment. You should be able to buy 2kg for under £15. Are you near any outlets as there are Cadbury shops in some of them?
Good luck and hope the party is fun.A [STRIKE]B[/STRIKE][STRIKE]C [/STRIKE]D E [STRIKE]F[/STRIKE]G H I J K L M N O P Q R S [STRIKE]T[/STRIKE]U V [STRIKE]W [/STRIKE]X Y Z0 -
I have a Cadbury shop nearby in an oulet store - did not think of that. I will try there first and see what deals they have.0

Try the chocolate from Lidl - decent price and tastes good too!
If you think you are too small to make a difference, try getting in bed with a mosquito!

Robert Dyas do 900g for £9.99 or 2 packs for £15 I noticed the other day. Not sure if that is good or bad though!0

Tesco's own chocolate is as good as any for a chocolate fountain/fondue.0

I use the tesco (or asda) smart price stuff for baking and it tastes fine (often eat it too if i need a chocolate fix!!) I think it's 27p for 100g so you can get 2kg for just over £5
I don't think it's worth paying for better quality chocolate as it gets mixed with oil and eaten with other flavours anyway.0 -
I don't have one of these machines, but I did read somewhere you can use normal chocolate & add some oil.
If you are adding oil, can I suggest Sweet Almond Oil, I use (well my DD uses it) in baking.
