I have just moved to FD 2.99 fixed. Not a bad deal. Great service etc etc.
Anyway, i used to bank at Abbey and now with FD.
Abbey used to tell you your actual and available balance online. FD only tell you the actual.
Do they do this on purpose hoping you will go overdrawn or is it something they have not thought about?
Having only ever banked with Abbey, perhaps they are the exception to the rule.

I greatly believe this is a bank account question? correct?
No bank will want you to go overdrawn but the available balance online for FD is updated only the following day. So if you go to the ATM today in the afternoon, you will not see the transaction online until the next day. However, if you phone up for your balance, you will actually hear the new balance.Motto: 'If you don't ask, you don't get!!'

This is not correct - ATM transactions appear instantly, both when viewed via an ATM and online via the web. At least they do for me."You were only supposed to blow the bl**dy doors off!!"0
