It seems you carried out a very detailed survey through Halifax? If so, it will take another one week for the surveyor to post out the response to your house. You will have to sign the survey and return the sheet saying that you are happy with the house. If it is a basic survey you carried out, you don't have to respond.

The possible reason for your delay is the survey. You should phone them and ask what is holding up the mortgage. Simply tell them that the house is on the market still and can possibly be sold on to another buyer.

Just be aware, the average ok for a mortgage application can take as long as 2 weeks. First direct can take 8 weeks........ So keep on smiling. Be patient.
