Hi
Can anybody tell me if home working still exists, I did it years ago things like packing items into bags or boxes or envelopes etc,you collect or its delivered you agree a time for it to be done and it was price per job not by hour. mainly for hotel companies or mailing companies.

My mum used to do that sort of stuff when I was younger, she packed birthday cards.
As far as I know these days jobs like that have gone, they've got machines that do it all now, no surprise really, give it another few years and I doubt us humans will have any real uses that they won't have machines for.
There's always Avon and similar type jobs avaliable but I've never done them so would recommend reading the threads already on the forum about those if it's something you're interested in doing.
Not much help I'm afraid but didn't want to just read and run.

I work from home, but the jobs I have found tend to be IT or call centre based not manual labour like packing. Most companies also want you to work on a self employed basis. What types of thing do you want to do? Are you techy at all?

Ye quite a bit I just need a little top up income and as I am out of the house working anyway I wanted something I could do at home, just something to last 10 - 12 hours over the week.
What was good about the packing job is no deadlines you got paid when it was done could have been 2 hrs or 10 hrs to do the job.
  • Hi

In my area, there are packing and assembly homeworking jobs.

I've done labels on talc, assembling building products, packing cards, making up goody bags for supermarkets, etc...

We also have a Christmas cracker factory near us but my car caught fire on the way to the interview so I dont know much about this !

Its a case of sitting down with phone books and ringing round local companies every couple of months to see what they have.

I use homeworking to supplement my self employed business.

    You could try Lionbridge

You have to do at least 10 hours a week though, but pick your own hours.
