Hi all,
Right heres the score. Me and my girlfriend have bought a house under the government homebuy scheme, 75% mortgage 25% HomeBuy loan. Right government side is sorted, I have got authroity to proceed which a copy has been sent to solicitor and developer. Mortgage with Halifax has requsted a valuation (this week) and if happy my FSA has said they should release a written offer. Im hoping for this next week some time. Solicitor is issuing me a contract this week which is good, get that signed and send back.
My question is how long from when you get a mortgage offer to you move in? I know the homebuy team require 5 days before exchange then a further 5 days for move in, this is to allow money transfers.
Also our mortgage was arranged by a broker, when then noticed that Halifax are offering to pay half your council tax. Will we still be able to get this?
Cheers
