Asda bulk pasta- cheaper than chips.

Was in Asda's Canterbury earlier, and spotted a whopping 3kg pack of pasta for just £2! What's more, it's included in an any 2 for £3 promo- there were big packs of rice, and packs of four tinned toms among other things included. It was only on one "shape" of pasta.

Hope this helps someone :j

Silly question, how long does it keep for please? Is there a use by date on there?

Thanks for that. Just last week I finished the last 3Kg bag of pasta which I bought from Mr T for £1 before the price shot up like crazy. I was hoping it would begin to fall again.

It would keep all year though I'd have thought?

I got some of this too. TBH I wouldn't worry about the dates - I ate some wholewheat spaghetti dated 2005 a while back. It was delicious. :D

It was only on one "shape" of pasta.

Does anyone else get bored with one shape of pasta? We bought a 5kg bag of pasta from our farm shop (waaaay before christmas) and it got so boring having shells all the time:rotfl:. Sounds so silly "saying" it out loud :D. Although not moneysaving we ended up giving some of it away to use it up more quickly so we could have a different shape:o

Back OT this 2 for £3 pasta works out cheaper than their Smart Price pasta!

I was wondering about that, the last lot I got were the 3 for a £1 ones, still got loads as we hardly ever eat it.
I think I'd get bored of the same shape, I usualy like the twirly ones, they seem to grab the sauce?

If you look on the bbc website, it says 2 years so in my mind that means forever ;)

At the bottom of the page........

Dried noodles keep, like dried pasta, for up to a couple of years in a cool, dark place. Either keep them in their original packaging or transfer them to an airtight tin. Most fresh noodles can be frozen, as can cooked fresh or dried noodles. They'll keep for a couple of months.

In our Asda they had Fussilli (twists) and Penne (tubes) at £2 for a 3kg bag. DD bought the penne.
