You're the go-to girl now :) Now you know what Hypno feels like :)

How you doing? I just posted off an Amazon sale - only put it up on Sunday, for the first time, and its sold yesterday, which really tells me that the rest of my carp on there, which has been up for months and months, really is carp.

Don't think my name should be mentioned in the same breath as Hypno's - no comparison :rotfl: and she keeps upping the stakes

I am fine thinks forgot I had visitors tonight so a bit of a shock when they turned up so I am way behind on keeping up with the posts and missed lots of bingo:o

At least something sold - I am not a seller just not in my nature I can only give things away

I've done that once! *very* embarrassing. Talking of posts, I had a look at the special occasions board, and came across a whole world of mse I'd never even looked at before, including lots of craft-type threads that look really good! So thank you for signposting that for me ..

I just can't do tough I'm afraid - even at school fairs I always make sure I am on a stall where the price is fixed tombola or something because I could never sell anything to anybody :o especially if I had to decide the price.

I am not very good at selling myself either which brings me to todays problem. I have an interview this morning  (not mentioned it before because I have been trying not to think about it:rolleyes:) I have only had 2 job interviews in my whole life in 1981 and 1983 and looking back they were not exactly normal interviews being carried out by two rather eccentric lawyers since then any jobs I have had have been offered to me.

This interview (not for a paid job I'm afraid ) came out of the blue as when I was asked if I would like to do it no interview was mentioned. It is something I would really like to do and in some ways as they are not paying me then the decision will purely be made on me and not whether I am worth what they would be paying me if that makes sense. So I can't say I am looking forward to it at all:eek:

Anyway back to debt busting 75p real money and 25p bonus money from the scratchies and my PAD is £21 courtesy of free bingo money again :j

  • Decided I am going to have to get changed day started off chilly but now bright blue sky and sunny so I am going to look silly if I go to interview in what I am wearing now - not many business type clothes to choose from haven't worked in an office for 11 years  can you tell I am worried about this why did I open my big mouth and say yes in the first place this is definitely self inflicted stress I could do without:mad:

Hmmm.... bad at selling. Well, I don't think I could sell *things*. Thats why I like selling online - if people want to buy it, they do. If they don't, they just pass by, no harm, no foul.

Did you know I'm a counsellor? I am.... and I can be quite soft, myself. And at first, I was giving lots of reduced rates to people, including newcomers. And I got done over like a kipper, basically. There's a lot of work in taking somebody on for the sort of deep-level work I do, and I was charging crazy rates, and people were just leaving after 2/3 sessions, leaving me drained. If I hadn't pulled back from that, I'd have burned out within a couple of years. As it was, a colleague of mine helped me keep my rates up where they should be (i.e. inflation proofing) and I made a rule for myself about who I would accept for reduced rates. And I stick to it, because if I don't, it leads to all sorts of horribleness. What that means, in relation to selling, is that I *don't* sell. This is what I'm offering. If you don't want it, thats okay - same as selling a book on Amazon. Its tough keeping to the boundary when its face to face, but not difficult at all for something like Amazon. Do go for it - its not as profitable as the free bingo, but its still not bad!

You are right about the offering and then leaving them to take it or leave it - bit more difficult when you are offering yourself people think I am very confident little do they realise that - I have very low self esteem - pity you were not nearer counselling might do me good not at mates rates though - actually I would feel quite uncomfortable about mates rates so perhaps I should try and think it through more from other peoples points of view and how they feel:confused:

Oh dear too much thinking for me this morning I am off soon so keep your fingers crossed I don't make a complete !!! of myself:D
