Which lenders are easier to get mortgages with?

Hi,
My wife and I need to get a mortgage in principle to proceed with our offer on a house. I have found mortgage products from the following lenders which suit our requirements... (5 year fixed, 75% ltv)
RBS
Halifax
HSBC
Does anyone know which of these are going to be the more relaxed lenders? We have had a AIP declined by Nationwide (advice of our original broker to try them because they were the strictest and would highlight any credit issues).
Cheers!

Hi
You need to be more specific about what you mean by 'relaxed'.
What credit issues are there exactly?0 -
Well - My wife had an issue with a credit card when she was a student (about 5 years ago). On her credit report from experian it gives an '8' for this credit card. Other than that nothing else other than we have move house a number of times in the last 3 years (about once a year).
Is that enough info?0 -
RBS
Halifax
HSBC
The first two are owned by the taxpayer.

Sounds like it's a credit scoring issue rather than adverse. Frankly your broker made a bad move suggesting NW as I believe that would be a straight decline due to the number of house moves.
Abbey would be worth a punt (albeit not on your list). HSBC are reasonably strict but would be worth a go as they do a soft credit search.0 -
Abbey are a nightmare to get a mortgage with at the moment. Found HSBC to be very good they even gave me a re mortgage and I have just completed a IVA.0
