hi
we are first time buyers trying to follow the right advice. We have set the ball in motion to get a mortgage sorted - we have an 11% deposit and earning a joint income of around 50k. we have seen a lender who has determined the right mortgage deal and we have tried to instigate a mortgage in principle today. We have already done a soft footprint credit check which came back fine but C&G have referred it and asked for further information. Just wondering if this is usual and whether it has an impact on whether they will agree the mortgage in principle?
Thanks

A bit vague - what further information have they asked for?0

I think you are going to have be squeaky clean for it to go through and maybe also have some other credit arrangements on file with perfect records.
They shout about 90% LTV's but they sure do not like them.
It is do-able though.0 -
not sure exactly what they want as yet because the broker is going to speak to them direct on tuesday and let me know. so far he's just told me to get pay slips for last three months and bank statements for the last month and passports. as far as I know we are fairly clean credit wise but as this is my first time I'm not sure exactly what to expect.0

Expect to have to prove your income in the form of payslips, P60 and probably bank statements, plus prove your identity and current address in the form of passport and utility bill.
Sounds ok, relax and enjoy the bank holiday.0 -
Asking for proof of income and ID is standard.0

Check your credit file on experian as well.0

Don't worry, you'll be fine. Good luck.0
