There are conflicting facts. The official Sanrio site states she lives in London whilst others say she was born there.
Then there are other sites that say she moved to England from Tokyo.
Where's Kipper with the answer? Now even more in debt... to Catz747 and now Toniq as well!0 -
I asked Jeeves,Googled it,used MSN and all said London

more info there, dont know if that helps
found this too:
At the time her Japanese
creators were conceiving the concept of her character, the British culture was very popular in Japanese
girls. But because of mistranslations, the name Hello Kitty was adopted.
Hello Kitty's creators developed an interesting profile for her. Her website reveals that she was originally named Kitty White and was born on November 1, 1974. She was born in Cambridge, but lived in London, England.0 -
I personally think the question is a bit ambiguous (sp?) because can be taken 2 ways really & either answer could be correct.2025 - finally back comping after a stressful house move - send me fairy dust please!

On the link Princess Pixiedust has listed it says in her biography
Hello Kitty was born in Japan in 1974
Which is why I said I think either answer could be correct. I haven't entered yet as trying to decide which option to go for.2025 - finally back comping after a stressful house move - send me fairy dust please!
