What is the best cure for aching feets and legs pls?????

Thanks Pink, thats out of the question! (sob) my landlord is totally useless its a quick shower and out, bath is cracked (people who fitted new shower cracked it)and it has been taped up, has been for months, have been on to him on NUMEROUS occasions but nothing.....

Please don't dismiss this as Norah Batty-esque, but support tights are really helpful for aching legs. They do make a big difference if you're on your feet all day and may help prevent problems like varicose veins which can develop when you're standing for long periods (the voice of experience here!).

Modern support tights are really quite normal looking, even the firm support ones, which are really effective. Nobody need ever know! You just need to be sure when you put them on that you make sure you pull them up each leg evenly. They also last for ages if you hand wash them, much longer than normal tights, which makes them economical!

Bronnie, could you tell me a little more about support tights, I am 25 and already have at least one varicose vein and suspect others are on their way, I have seen a consultant who would have removed them but I would be left with a scar and I decided that for the moment I didn't want to suffer surgery, recovery and scaring at least until the veins get worse, but would be really interested in some (normal looking) support tights that may help, or at least stop them getting any worse!

Where can I get them from and how should they fit, also I am tall do they make long ones?

Op I can defiantly agree it does get better, I was a shop assistant standing at the till for 8 hours a day and for the first few weeks it was horrid getting home with aching legs but I soon got used to it!

Boots pharmacy website have good info, I probably shouldn't make any grand claims here as apparently the benefit for VV is not proven. The website explains how they work and how to choose.

I wore Boots firm support ones, come in different support levels, light medium and firm and different sizes. Also wore M&S ones. I'm tall too and large was more than long enough. I found they definitely made my legs ache less and I felt they were helpful with my VV problem.

Think its a case of try a pair and see!

Incidentally, had my VV stripped (full leg) 10 years ago, had one summer of lovely legs, then they came back with a vengence. Last year had foam schlerotherapy, which has done the trick successfully to date and was minimal recovery time too.

Fly-Flot shoes are really nice if you tend to get achy feet.

Dieselhead, Thanks hun I can't wait for it to get better, by the end of the day they are killing me and your right getting home is a nightmare when you can hardly walk. I didn't even want to mention it as i'm only on a work trial at the mo, but don't want them to think i'm lazy either, but like i said by the end of the day its agony.
