Hi
We have our mortgage offer through - phew. However some of our o/s credit cards and 2 personal loan accounts are listed in the mortgage offer advising;
Before you take out the mortgage, you must pay off all the money you owe to:
TSB under account nu. xxxx
Mbna under account number xxxx
First account number xxxx
amex under account number xxxx
barclays under account number xxxx
what will we need to give to our solicitor to show this or will we need to send anything to the halifax - it is not clear on the offer letter and this is all it says.
The problem is we want to complete and exchange on the same day on 15th June and my statements are not sent from my credit cards until end of month, will we need to give full credit card bills showing nil balance before we can get the halifax to release the mortgage monies.
Look forward to your comments.
Many thanks!

Showing the most recent statements (end of May?) together with proof of payment should suffice. Check with the solicitor that this is their interpretation too.
It is the solicitor's responsibility to ensure the conditions are met, so it is highly unlikely that Haifax need to see any documents before releasing funds. They will rely on the solicitor's professional competence.0 -
Oh good. My solicitor completed on the sale of my rental property 2 weeks a go of which they sent me the balance of £70,000 our deposit on our new propery si £45,000 so they will know we are using some of the monies for debt clearing any way but good that we can use the statements from end of May0
