Car tax not on Direct debit?

Hi there - just a humble view from me!
Unfortunately as car tax is unavailable on direct debit what I have been doing is stashing any 50 pence pieces left over.
When I have a batch (say, £5-10 or so) I wander down to thew post office and purchase some Post office savings stamps which are available at £5 each. I then add them onto the savings card which they provide, and, as long as you keep it up, Hey presto! Less of a whack when your car tax is due!
I don't miss the money at 50p a time but it sure builds up quite quickly!
Hope that is an idea for you all!

If you saved your money and paid it into a Savings account then not only would you have money towards your bills but you would get interest as well.
It also helps you to get into the discipline of saving.
Car tax is not available by D/D as DVLC have to ensure that you have car insurance and an MOT if applicable before issuing the disc.0 -
