Thrify Birthday Presents

My mum and sister's birthdays are coming up soon and as I've just been made redundant I was keen to find some frugal but stylish gifts to give.
So, I was routing around in my junk cupboard where I keep all my unused presents that I've received but don't need (many body care gift sets and lots of candles). When I spy some boxes at the back with 'Party Lite' on them. I remember going to a Party Lite candle party at my friends house last year and must have forgotten about some of my purchases.
Unpacking the boxes I find a huge 3-wick candle which smells gorgeous together with a glass plate to stand it on and a china 10 inch high angel with pearly wings (looks better than I make it sound) to put a tea-light into. These will make ideal presents for my mum and sister and they're free (well, not quite as I did pay for them but meant them for me and forgot about them). :T
I have also embroidered a book mark for one of them which cost about £5 so I'm getting the hang of this thrifty malarkey.

we too also have present drawers in our house - some of those plastic 3 drawer things from wilkinsons we brought 2 of them and we buy things in sales that will make good gifts such as alcohol gift sets and smellies and also if we get gifts we dont like or cant use we put them in there and recycle - obv rememebring who got them us.
My mum loves sanctuary so I stock up when on offer as one of the few products I am not allergic to so recently they had a lovely gift set free when spent £10 so got myself so nice bits for £12 then kept the free gift set for a present.0 -
I had a thrifty birthday present buying session today! It's my XHTB's birthday tomorrow and I needed to get him something from our daughter.
I had 7.59 in Boots points, so went there and came out Charles Worthington body wash and a moisturiser for men. A hair and body wash and a deodrant, from the FISH brand and a Trevor Sorbie aftershave and a body wash, all for 5.20!
Then went to Tesco and bought two tops which were in the sale and had an additional 20% off, which I paid for using HIS tesco clubcard voucher which still come here.. :rotfl:
So all in all it cost me NOTHING! Bargain! :T
I am also baking a cake for him at DD insistance, reckon that's cost me about a quid :TBSC No: 2450 -
When I was younger I used to think I was being mean for recycling presents I had been given
But now I think it is brilliant :j It is great to save unwanted presents from landfill etc and I am sure with various friends and relatives you will know someone who will appreciate your unwanted items.
I now see it as being thrifty and environmentally friendly
Just make sure to remember who gave you the present in the first place :rotfl::grouphug:0
