Lloyds TSB - Help please?

in Loans
We have a loan with LTSB which we were forced to take a few years ago to clear unagreed overdrafts on a handful of accounts we held with LTSB when we banked with them (I had an account, husband had one and we also had a joint one).
The terms of the loan:
Started April 2005
Duration 144 month loan ending on 15 April 2017
Amount borrowed £4,700
Monthly interest rate fixed throught loan 0.08%
APR 1.0%
Monthly repayment via Direct Debit £46.64
Insurance to protect the lan Yes
Anyway to cut a long story short we have had no end of trouble with Lloyds TSB and their customer services. The latest issue being in November last year when I rang them to say I was struggling and I could arrange to pay £1 a month temporarily. They said they would send me one of their income & expenditure forms which never arrived, so I called them and they said they would send another which also never turned up!
I then sent them one of my own Income and Expenditure lists from a template and waited 2 weeks but when I rang them up to ckeck they had received it they said they hadnt and accused me of lying!
Anyway I then had to deal with the death of my father in law, my own dads ill health, my mother in laws ill health and Christmas and New year then the death of another family member
so left it until the 2nd week of January this year. I rang them back up and they refused to speak with me as I did not pass the security questions as I could not confirm the right address (part of the issues I have had with customer services which doesnt seem to be able to be resolved due to a fault on their systems ).
Anyway I still havent heared from Lloyds TSB or any debt agency associated with them. My Direct Debits stopped being collected in November last year (their mistake) and so I assume I must be in serious arears by now yet I havent heared from them at all.
As I said I am trying to sort my debts out and want to offer LTSB a token payment of £1 as I have done with all my other creditor debts but I am treluctant to get in contact, by phone or by letter, with LTSB as I fear it will start even more hassles.
I also want to reclaim miss-sold PPI and charges back from them but again am hesitating.
Anyone have any suggestions?
Many thanks and sorry to rant.

Hi Crisp. I'm sorry to hear you are having so much trouble with LTSB. I can fully sympathise with you. I had trouble with them over the last 2 years. Basically. husband got made redundant, I told the Bank could only pay £1.00 a month temporarily (they refused) - I paid it anyway. Kept them fully up to date with all developments and asked for a breakdown of my loan payments to date - that was in Jan 2008. Despite numerous letters and phone calls, I got nowhere so in the end I complained to the Ombudsman and low and behold, 18 months later, I got it. My loan is now with their internal debt recovery team who, when they rang me last, couldn't have been nicer! LTSB are notorious for being bas****s when it comes to communication. If you get nowhere with their own internal complaints department, the Ombudsman is the next move. Write to the Bank and say you will only commuicate by letter. Good luck. Julie x0

Hi thanks for the reply. I dont have the patience for the complaints department at Lloyds TSB to be honest, I think I have made it clear enough I am not happy with them. Like you its been going on for the best part of the loan so far!
Should I go ahead with my £1 token payment letter refering to the last contact with LTSB and the fact I have not had a response (claiming this indicates acceptance of any previous correspondence) or go direct to Ombudsman?
Please can you give me the address of the Ombudsman, if you still have it handy, and what I need to do (is there a template letter or a general form to complete and send to them?) as I would like to get it sent asap.
I have already made LTSB morte than aware I want contact in writing yet they still ignore my requests (by letter and in the past by stating the fact on answering their calls).
Thanks again for the advice.

By all means pay the £1.00, It shows good intentions. Write to them again reiterating what you've done before and say if they do not reply within, say 14 days, you will refer the matter to the Ombudsman. You can google the Ombudsman (ooh err!) to get contact details and download their application form. Send copies of all correspondence you have provided and what LTSB has responded with when you make the complaint. Good luck!0
