Wine 3 for £10 - where to go tonight?!

Hi All,

Hoped someone could point me in the right direction! I'm off to buy my 3 for £10 wine tonight (fingers crossed it's still on!)
I've heard it quoted in Tesco, Asda and Sainsburys but where is it still on? And which offers the best wine??

Thanks so much for your help, I can't find much info on the web and I really don't want to spend Friday night traipsing around all three!!

Tesco, Gallo 5 Oaks red and white are OK (can't say about the rose as I haven't tried it). Supposed to retail normally at £8.99 - personally I reckon its worth £6 - £7 but its still a good buy. If you can stretch to 6 bottles you will get 5% discount on the original price ie about £4 off and end up paying £16 for the lot. Even better if you can double up £10 worth of CC vouchers - but make sure you buy some extra shopping to £4 - £5 value otherwise you will be giving them back a £20 double up voucher for only £16 of wine! And I'm sure you don't want to give Tesco money you don't have to !

  • Don't you find that Gallo always a bit suspicious, they market their wine as "white wine" "red wine" and "rose"!

I think ASDA's is a permanent offer. They quite often have a Lindeman's Chilean white wine in the 3 for £10 and I usually buy that as it's usual retail price is about £7 and I really like that wine.

Tesco have a lot of two for £10/ half price wines on at present, and not as many three for £10 as usual.

Edited to add: I might be talking rubbish, as just remembered I didn't look at the Australian wines - for some reason I never seem to like the Aussie stuff.

Remember that extra shopping has to be wine.....

Well, perhaps it SHOULD be but it doesn't seem that it HAS to be!!!:rotfl:
What you get from CS are £10 till spits which are for wine. However, when you pay the till seems to accept them at face value even if your wine actually comes to a bit less after the 6 bottle discount. So if you've bought £20 wine (before discount) and also some extra shopping, the extra £2/£3 discount seems to be set off against the total bill ifyswim.

At least, thats what happened to me. Its possible I was just lucky though - this happened in the store where I got an extra 200 earlier this week on 2 printer cartridges. We can't work out why this happened either as the offer finished a while back and was for 250 points anyway. There was no SEL stating extra points and I only bought a few small veg items and some honey apart from the cartrdiges. Its possible that this particular store has some sort of computer glitch which is working in customers favour ! (Makes a change!)

I popped into Asda last night to buy some of their 3 for £10 wines, they had some which retail at £7.99 so I thought I'd try some different wines. They also have some good offers on single bottles of wine at half price or less, I picked up a couple of decent wines for £4 each (one a Rioja which I love, tasted ok to me last night;)). I paid £18 for 6 bottles in total which is pretty good value and my wine rack looks a little more full now. I'm not fussy about what wine I drink, as long as I enjoy it that'll do for me.
