It probably should not say pre christmas delivery but then again they will have all their clauses to get out off it. Cd wow do brilliant prices but are painfully slow at delivering I just had to wait 3 weeks on a dvd that was in stock and should have take 5 days( according to them). Im afraid its a case of good savings but only if you are not in a hurry.

This has been the first time that CD-WOW delivery has been slow for me! Normally I receive items that I ordered within two days but sadly this christmas I can't see some of the items I ordered arriving! But I don't blame CD-WOW, its just the postal service being extreamly busy!

I have always had problems trying to get the postage refunded. Either the cost sent to me or the cost to return.  Tried this with Studio once and it was cheaper to keep the good than lose £12 postage.  Needless to say I stay well clear of studio stuff.

Can you always guarantee that FREE postage is available for returns??

If you dont want the products you have to pay for the delivery and returns, however many places do free returns and some free delivery as well

Does anyone know if you have the same rights buying from traders on ebay? I bought a mobile phone for my girlfriend that was sent last Wednesday but still hasn't arrived. Getting anxious now, it's not gonna look good at all if it doesn't arrive. Maybe it's been nicked. I wonder if the post is even worse this year than previous years because of the increased popularity of Internet shopping.
  • Ebay seems to be a law to itself. If you bought from a powerseller report them to trading standards with their home address

I order a dvd boxset and a dvd from a major supermarket online. The only reason i order the 2nd dvd is because it takes me over £30 and they give me £5 off.

    Ok it's Tesco

And hence i get the 2nd dvd which is in the sale at £4.99 for nothing. (-£5 discount)

Since then they dispatch me the 2nd dvd and cancel the boxset as they say they can no longer dispatch the boxset.

The offending boxset is still on the site with a 7 day delivery time. I waited 10 before they cancelled.

I cannot now get the item before xmas, and to top it all they have amended the invoice and removed my £5 off voucher and charged me for the 2nd dvd at full price + p+p. Just because they say they cannot supply my boxset.

I have emailed them asking for a response. Especailly as they say the order is despatched in one go.

They have fulfilled half the order and due to their own problems cancelled the other half and charged me more than i was willing to pay for the originally 2nd dvd.

Any ideas where i stand from these t****rs

The boxset was a xmas gift for a friend
  • There is a spectacular ignorance of Ebay in the general public as demonstrated in this thread above.

With regard to postage, Ebay now makes sellers offer a selection of postage options to buyers, some of which a good seller would never recommend, particularly at this time of year.

So, what happens, the buyer will generally select the cheapest option which will be 2nd class post and when it doesn't turn up for 2 weeks who gets the blame????

    THE POOR OLD SELLER........... :-[

I advise customers to take Special Delivery Next Day delivery and generally have no problems but you do get the odd one.

When in doubt, ASK BEFORE YOU BID!!!! and save the seller and yourself a load of grief.

I ordered a personalised item on 5th Nov: from "Past Times", with a 28day delivery. It wasn't cheap at £50 plus P&P. I rang them last week and they said they dispatched it on 9th Dec:
Rang again yesterday, and said I need to go out especially to get a present as it still hadn't arrived. I said it was a real nuisance, as it was the only pressie I was short of, and not wanting to go back out looking. The lady agreed it had taken to long, so cancelled my order, refunded the money to my credit card. She then told me as its in the system and has been dispatched, because its personalised if I do receive it...........................I can keep it!
Knowing my luck its lost in snail mail for eternity :(

  • Can i please have evidence of the alleged card. Four adults were at that address. Calling the Dundee office I was enlightened by your staff telling the driver to get back now because they wanted to get home (censored, since i have a sense of decency). My telephone call to the local office had been answered by someone placing the telephone on a desk. The conversation that ensued was witnessed by two individuals. The parcel in question was dispatched 22 Dec 2004 16:13:00. Confirmed Weighed 22 Dec 2004 21:05:00. Goods out for Delivery 23 Dec 2004 14:44:00. Goods out for Delivery (again) 24 Dec 2004 08:52:00. Consignee Unavailable (carded) 24 Dec 2004 15:54:00 [see above]. It appears that you had no intention of fulfilling the contracted delivery, and indeed my earlier enquiry (which was met with a negative reponse regarding adverse weather; in a major city?) to your company appears to have prompted the latter update. I would be interested in your considered reply to such a breach of trust, especially given the contempt your company has to those who are contracted to them, both de-facto and implied. I made a full attempt to contact you at all numbers available to me in order to resolve this during your own office hours, but was provided with an automated reply (tel: 08700 137613); after having to listen to abusive language from your local representatives this very long placatory diatribe was intolerable. I have the impression that you had as much intention of responding to my enquiry as fulfilling the work you were contracted to do. Without predjudice, dissatisfied client.

Not just the retailer, but they DID guarantee pre christmas delivery if ordered before 11:00am Wed 22nd Dec. (https://www.scan.co.uk) (Initial Citylink was the carrier btw) Ordered Monday 20th.

So now what else can i do?

  • Just spent ages looking for this thread!

I've just placed an order on cd wow.  Their website says today is last day for xmas delivery.

I called them up (to check my order had gone through - had problems with page loading.  It had) and checked with the girl on the phone, to ensure delivery before xmas.  She said it isn't guaranteed (even thought the website said today is last day)

Any ideas?  I have kept the order, as I want it, (too good a price not to have) but should it say that on the website?

    Many thanks in advance :)

    The stuff never came :(

My friend also ordered 2 items at the same time as me, and they all got dispatched together (22nd dec) and she only got 1 of her items in time.

    Boo hoo :(
