FTB mortgage - did we get it?

Hi,
Hope I'm not being too naive here but we got a letter from A&L (who we applied to for a mortgage) yesterday asking for last month's payslip from me. The letter said if I return it within 7 days "our mortgage offer would be issued without delay". I faxed the payslip through immediately in joyful optimism that we have been successful in our application although today I'm wondering if I jumped the gun with my happiness. Does anybody here know if I should take what that letter said to mean we will get an offer or should I not count my chickens just yet?
Sorry if I sound a bit lost - but I am!! :rotfl:

Sounds like they just needed that final piece of proof of income.
Just ring them if you're unsure.0 -
Has the valuation been done?
A&L have recently changed their underwriting similar to that of Abbey i.e they want all documents first and review them, before instructing the survey.
If it is a case of a missing piece of paperwork, then it could be that quick for a mortgage offer letter. If a survey/valuation needs to be instructed, carried out and then reviewed, it may take a little longer.I am a Mortgage AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a Mortgage Adviser, so you need to take my word for it. See, this is the thing. We were told last week that the valuation was "in the system to be done". We've been chasing this up and keep getting told the same thing, up until I got this letter yesterday. Am I right in thinking then the valation won't have gone ahead if they have sought more info from me?0

That should now be the case with A&L
Give them a quick call to find out, alternatively you can call the selling agent to see if the survey has been done as well.I am a Mortgage AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a Mortgage Adviser, so you need to take my word for it.
