MBNA aargh!

Just really want to have a sound off about MBNA.Eaten enough chocolate to be climbing the walls,so now time to rant.
Over the last couple of days studied all statements of debts.
MBNA,although one of the lowest debts we have, are really dragging their heels.Payplan think our creditors are all as fine as they can be with the DMP except MBNA.
MBNA stopped us using our account 4 years ago, they couldn't understand why after 7 years of no missed payments(we often used to pay full balance) that we wanted to have a month break and pay 2 months in 1,this was because OH went from weekly pay to monthly pay, mortgage came 1st,so with no money for 7 weeks this was only option, all other creditors had no probs, but MBNA stopped account and that was that.
We have paid every month since, even payed late charges when they refused to take payments over the phone because it isn't late. Now worked ou that with all payments added up over the 4 years,we have actually paid more in interst than we actually owe,and that our balance has only been reduced by 50 quid
So why are they being sooo arrogant and abusive now? surely by agreeing to our DMP they can only be quids in? what benefit is it to them to sell the debt on?
Thanks for letting me go on and on,now time for more chocolate

If I was you I would look into the possibility of claiming back the charges on your MBNA account (and any other), I and many other have done or are in the process of doing so. There is a thread about it on here. Good luck with everything.Debt free = December 2010...as of March 2006 it is now January 2010..... as of December 2008 it is now December 2009 :j hopefully sooner!!:jDEBT FREE:j January 2012, took longer but I got there, all by myself, through sheer hard work and pride!0

Hi ya,
Start claiming back your charges I bet they change their tune then! I think the website is https://www.bankactiongroup.co.uk . There should be a load of people on there who can help you.

Thanks isgman, your thread is exactly what is happening to us,I don't know how they can still get away with,we got the line last night that they don't understand why we are on a DMP,when we told them the huge size of our debt their reply was we can offer you a consolidation loan, just what we need,NOT.Debt at highest £102k

Having just had an IVA accepted MBNA were THE worst. I was getting 3 or 4 calls a day telling me the same thing, (that I'd missed payments - as if I didn't know), and I kept telling the same old thing that I was in the process of an IVA along with giving them court dates, creditor meeting dates etc.0

MBNA are a pain even if you have never missed payments or had problems - both myself and OH have MBNA accounts (all managed okay), and we still get 4 or 5 calls a day from their bl**dy call centre trying to flog us massively overpriced payment protection, or extended credit limits etc. I even closed my MBNA account down I was so fed up - then stone me, another cc company I was with sold out to MBNA - so I can't escape them!!!
Not sure that helped you at all, livinginhope, except to say you are not alone and I need chocolate too now!!!!0 -
Feeling much better after my moan up,didn't realise so many others had this problem with MBNA,there should be a health warning on their applications, having an MBNA credi card will damage your health due to overdosing on chocolate. Now got banging headache and no more choccy till shopping day.Debt at highest £102k
