Lentils are nice curried, so that might well work if you fancied it. Curried baked beans are also tasty but, as you say, probably not with prawns! ;)

I hope you sort something out. :)

    Thanks again

I have checked the link & that mostly is for bulking out mince or stews, but I did get a few ideas so gonna raid the tinned fruit shelf to see if I have anything in there ;) along with tinned toms, sweetcorn mushrooms onions etc ....I'm sure it will be fine & lets face it you dont want too much prawn curry hehe
& I just remembered I printed of a recipe for nan breads the other day so along with the rice ! Jobs a good'un !

Lentils, definitely - you'll end up with a delicious prawn dhansak :)
  • You could just make a smaller prawn curry and do a separate veg curry side dish - curried potato/mushroom/cauli/spinach/lentils etc (think Indian take away)

    some sultanas or raisins?
I've had banana in a curry before - it wasn't for me, but I'm not a huge fan of bananas anyway.
I add red pepper to prawns, or do you have any leftover bits of chicken/ odd drumstick in bottom of freezer? I make chicken and prawn curries.

    It's only a game

    Hi there

I was going to suggest lentils as its probably best for curry - you could also try squares of new potatos - the waxy type that dont fall apart when cooked, otherwise mushrooms and onions should do it.

Have you had a look at Curry Queens recipe thread for currys - there may be other ideas there too

    Best Wishes

I often use a tin of new potatoes, drained and sliced, to add bulk and another texture to prawn curry.
  • Hi, I've seen a lot of posts about how lentils can be used to bulk meals out in place of meat etc. But I have no idea how they'd be cooked and even what they actually are!!
So, say I was making a chilli, how would I incorporate lentils into that, say to a 50:50 ratio.
Ps. I know my chilli recipe, but just need to know when to put the lentils in so they cook properly. Oh, and also where abouts I'd find them in the shop!! Thanks. :-)
