Mortgage Payments - confussion

Options
Hi Guys

Need some advice.

Due to me wanting to pay off my o/d with RBS, I wrote and asked my current mortgage lender Yorkshire Building Society, to allow me to suspend my mortgage payments for 2 months, what I wanted was a payment holiday for 2 months.

An Advisor called me and said this would be fine and that everything was set up, At no time was I told I would get 2 x defaults on my account.

To my utter horror, i got a letter last week advising that i had a default on my mortgage, I called the help line and i got a snotty woman telling me basically tough, I never asked for a payment holiday so my default couldnt be removed etc. I explained to the original advisor who sanctioned my request that I could not have bad debt as I am a Bank Manager and she said fine.

Anyway the person whom I spoke with when I got my notice basically said there was nothing I could do. I have the money to pay my mortgage payment, it just means I will have to find some other way of paying off overdraft, but I am furious this has happened.

How hard is it to get a notice of correction applied, I heard about this a couple of weeks ago?? What else can I do????

Please help, I am having sleepless nights over this.

Thanks

Nicki

The notice of correction isn't going to rectify anything - working in financial services I'm sure you'll be aware of the impact of missed mortgage payments.

What I suggest in the first instance is a formal (written) complaint, pointing out that you weren't aware they would be recorded as missed payments and that you want the missed payments removed and recorded as made.

As with any complaint be sure to take any emotion out of it, so concisely

    1) What's happened
    2) Why you're not happy with it
    3) (Specifically) what you want done about it to recitify the matter.
