Electoral roll address not matching our address

Wondering if anyone knows if it is possible to apply to get your electoral roll address changed?

We have had dreadful trouble getting our remortgage sorted, because we are coming back as unknown on their checks - so are endlessly sending proof of address to all and sundry, in spite of having lived here for 20 years.

I know that our address on the electoral roll uses a completely different road name that is on no other documentation, not even on maps. It was faintly amusing before all these stringent money laundering checks. Now it is really tedious.

Anyone done this before?

Indeed he does! He must know about the electoral roll mystery road because they arrive too.

As you probably have your polling card at the moment, there should be an address on there for the returning officer. I'd try contacting them first.

I was in the same situation the address that my local authority held was completely different to that of the Royal Mail post code file.

I suggest you contact your local authority's electorall roll section and speak to them directly about correcting your address.
