Sorry to hear your not sleeping.

I agree with the hot bath, with lavender, a mug of co-coa, and maybe a read, but with me I would sleep, but my son who has special needs does not sleep, so as you can imagine I am staying awake most nights to keep a check on him.

His specialist will not give him anything to help him sleep, but we have sorted out the diet, stopped computers and TV at a certain time, so we keep to the same routine every night.

But anyway hope things get better for you, good luck.:A

    Thanks for the advice everyone.

I'm getting by on around 3 - 4 hours sleep at the moment. Dropping off around 2 then up again by 5, 5.30. 6 o'clock if I'm lucky.

I do feel constantly tired at the moment but have been trying different things to try and sleep more. I've suffered with insomnia for quite a while now but it seems to be having more of an affect now :(

You must be exhausted yourself di.

Hopefully your son will also settle into a better sleep pattern that will mean you can also get enough, as a lack of sleep is awful.

All the best to you as well hunni.:A

He is 14 now and even as a new born he hardly slept, not even in the day, so could never have the chance to catch up.

I remember my inlaws taken him down when he was a few months old and within an hour they brought him back home, said he was very restless, all this was before we were aware he had autism.
So babysitters were always a no no.

However, I should be used to it by now lol, I have a brother who I obviously gown up with, he is almost 44, and he is severely autistic, he was another who never slept.......

I do wish you luck;), now that my hubby is home as he lost his job before xmas, he will do his little bit to help out but rarely at night times lol, so better make the most of him before he returns to new employment.:A

Any chance of you catching up on some sleep during the day? Could you grab an hours nap in the afternoon just to keep you going?

I know you might think it may stop you from sleeping at night but then again it might be worth just grabbing any sleep where you can get it just now whilst you are going through a bad patch.
