Asda home grocery delivery

Hi, we live in a village and sometimes get Tesco home grocery deliveries from our nearest supermarket, about 8 miles away.

Today I saw an Asda home grocery delivery van driving through the village, which surprised me cos our nearest Asda is about 20-25 miles away, and I didn't think they delivered that far out.

Presumably then Asda will deliver groceries to a wide area, not just near their stores? The reason I'm interested is because I've heard Asda is a lot cheaper than Tesco. Is that right? I'm thinking of giving their home delivery service a go to see. Has anyone got any tips about what's good value/quality at Asda and what to avoid?

if you go to there website you can type in your postcode to check if they deliver to you.

one thing to watch for with asda.........if your order is say £40, they put a 'hold' on that amount........before the shopping is actually picked!

so, if things are out of stock and not substituted.........it takes 3 working days for your card/bank account to show the correct debited amount...eg £36.

But the good thing is they price match.
So if you order the 30p mint sauce and they haven't got any, they send you the 50p one and only charge you 30p.
(that's just an example, I haven't a clue how much thier mint sauce is).

I thought I'd give it a go, so made my first order with Asda last night, coming at the weekend. However this morning I needed to add a few things that I'd forgotten first time round. The screen then instructed me to go through to checkout again to register the amends/additions. Only thing was it asked me to input my credit card details and address all over again, although the delivery date & time I'd chosen last night was still there. Presumably though, this update overrides the first order and I won't be charged twice or have two deliveries!!??

this is just to override the first delivery so you will receive the amended delivery. i have asda delivery sometimes when have a busy week as can do housework while you wait in for 2 hour slot.
