On my calculator, 30 x .99p + £30 RAC/AA cover is £59.70. Which is more than £31.10
I would get a new neighbour - whatever you do , don't let him loose on your tax returns :rotfl:
Obviously, they mean (and clearly stated) that if you fill up cheaper every week it would cover the cost of AA over the course of a year.
Don't be so pedantic!
And, did you really need a calculator for that maths? :rotfl:0 -

Obviously.
Obviously everyone fills up every week so obviously this is a bad deal.
And obviously no-one has a Total near to an ASDA where the two match prices
And don't be silly about the calculator. I took my shoes off. Maths is no problem:rolleyes:
I think latot should give us a bit of credit for being able to work out whether fuel inclusive of breakdown cover is more costly than paying for the two separate. And if the fuel costs ARE the same, then it IS better than paying for separate SIMILAR cover0 -

If the text reply comes really quickly, you could just wait until you need the breakdown assistance before using the activation code. So you've basically got a policy that lasts until the promotion ends (as long as you don't break down more than two weeks apart!)
EDIT: Just checked the FAQs and unfortunately it says you have to text within 24 hours of purchasing the fuel, and you have to keep your receipt to validate it. So my idea won't work too well...0 -
If you only bought 30 litres from Total every two weeks then the over would only cost £31.20 if the prices stayed at £1.03 and 99p at Asda. This is obviously a lot cheaper for Breakdown cover as I was recently quoted £77 for the same cover. Unfortunately I live in Scotland so I can only take advantage of this when I holiday in England.0

Bloomin' brilliant post! Am off to Scotland on Tues for the first time and this is a great piece of mind! (As well as we will be needing the fuel too
) So perfect..!
Thanks so much OP

my second posy on this site so here goes....
OK I do NOT work for any breakdown company but I must say that I never pay more than £66 per year for comprehensive UK cover with the most important feature being able to get me back home.
I consider 18p per day for the peace of mind of being able to get home a very resonable price to pay, I know people who have been stranded on motorways and out in the sticks because they do not have cover and it ends up costing them more than I pay for 1 years worth of cover just to be towed.
All in all it is a good deal but having a REAL annual policy is much better value0 -
Total? Avoiding them for a long while after how they treated their workers no matter what small offers they give... unless they are offering free petrol?

Only used this once but it seems ideal for someone who only occasionally strays out of their local area and requires roadside assistance - they will only take you and your car to a garage .... not carry out any repairs themselves ...but it gets you out of danger for free
