This beauty popped up on Food Gawker tonight, another simple but effective way of making something look pretty fancy :)

Thank you guys - had such a mind blank!

The link to all the themed cakes is fab and makes me want to stay up all night to do those for them but I know I just can't. I am working until 6 tonight then have to go home to make cakes, do lots of washing, pack, decorate the cakes in the morning and then drive for a couple of hours to get to my sisters! But think will definately add that to my favourites to do for my daughter in a couple of months.

I love the covered in sweets/chocolates ideas and think this may have to be the winner! I know jelly sweets are full of colours and rubbish but can always be taken off if anyone objects - not that I think they will!

The idea of the chocolate shell I have a recipe for as an easter pinata (sp?) - basically make as you said covered in smarties then make a chocolate base to lay it on and fill with sweets! I think yours will love it!

Floyd I think I owe you a beer!

What I think I will do is the chocolate fingers with chocolates (kiddie type ones like maltesers) adding some pink lips and hearts and a pink bow for my neice. Then the kitkat with chocolates and adding some snakes with a green ribbon for my nephew. They will love them and there will be some symetry in the display! Yay!:T

:TJust wanted to say, I made the cakes. I ended up making a round cake with choc fingers, chocs and jelly lips for my neice and a square cake with choc fingers, chocs and snakes for my nephew. They loved them - his looked like a fenced in pit of snakes and hers was pretty. I think my sister was pleased and lots of great auntie points for me!

Many thanks to all with suggestions - I knew you would save me!:T:T:T:T:T:T:T:T:T:T:T:T:T:T:T:T:T:T:T:T:T:T:T:T:T:T
