    Thank you Paul.
Is there any point in me making a fuss?
If you were aware of the charges up front and choose to accept them, I doubt that you will get anywhere. Personally, I wouldn't bother because I think the time I'd likely end up spending complaning would be worth more to be than the likely fianacial gain (probably zero). You may value your time differently from me, of course.

Thank you for your post. Very true on both points. However, they said that they only do a BAC transaction and as I needed the money 'yesterday', I couldn't wait for that to clear.

Wouldnt you still have to wait for a cheque to clear?

Im assuming the courier didnt roll up with a pile of cash?

Yes, I did have to. But I still needed the money asap and figured that was the quickest way. Of course I was foolish, as it took them 3 working days [i arranged on friday and it arrived tuesday] anyway! But the alternative - according to them - was 3-4 working days for post to arrive, 3-4 working days for me to send papers back, and then to wait for transaction to hit my account. I'm sure they puffed things up to persuade me to take the courier but i still think - even with my foolishness - that their fees are exhorbitant: if one company charges £50, the other definately doesn't need to charge £70!

I can see why you're frustrated but using the same logic you're basically saying that all companies should charge the same price for every service or product.
Admittedly they exaggerated the timescales (probably 1-2 days for you to get the paperwork, 1-2 for you to send back, etc.) but you had a choice whether or not to pay the courier fee and you were aware in advance what the fee was.

Yeah, you're right I suppose [sigh]. I think I was hoping for advice like contact the FSA but I dare say this has to be put down to an expensive lesson :) Thanks Andy.
