Who can do certified copy of my passport? What professions I mean.

part22

Just got off the phone with the solicitors who are sorting my current mortgage application to Abbey.
They want a certified copy of my passport.
They told me a bank manager, solicitor or doctor can do this. Both will charge of course.
Is there anywhere else I can get this done without paying?

I thought it was a bit restrictive.
Know plenty of teachers and social workers so it should be easy.
Thanks for that:beer:0 -

A lot of places/people have stopped doing them as signing something as a certified copy carries a liability. If they are not earning anything from it, there is no reason to carry that liability.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. They are not financial advice and you should not treat them as such. If you feel an area discussed may be relevant to you, then please seek advice from an Independent Financial Adviser local to you.0

Librarian used to be on there - I've signed loads in the past. Did one earlier this year in fact. Wonder what we did to be deemed unsuitable all of a sudden.0 -
I'm currently applying for mortgages, making offers on properties and all the rignarole we know and love and when asked for a certified copy of my passport i always get the estate agent to put their company stamp on a photocopy of my passport and then sign it.
Seems to work.0
