Vitamin "C" in bread mix

My bread maker suggests using a 100mg vitamin c tablet, ground up of course, in the mix. Try as I might, however, I can't find any. Looked in health food shop today, but nothing suitable. Does anyone have an idea where I could find any? Apparently it improves the texture of the bread???

We use two of Mr Tesco's Vit C 60 mg.

Crush them between two tea spoons, then add to mix.

    Works for us.
I used to be indecisive but now I am not sure.

Looked in Tescos, couldn't see any, but thanks, I'll try again. I was in Wilkos today, didn't think to look there.

Holland & Barret sell Vitamin C powder 170g for £5.99.
If you are using a yeast like Hovis it already contains vitamin C, it's just labelled as citrus acid (or something similar!!!) so you don't need to add any extra.
However if you are using Doves Farm yeast then this doesn't and vitamin c is recommended to be added.

Citric Acid (or Vitamin C - ascorbic acid) is often used as a flour improver in baking
