Hi,
Myself and my girlfriend are looking to buy our first place together towards the end of this year or the start of 2010. I was wondering when is the right time to start looking at mortgages and finding out how much we are likely to be able to borrow and from who etc.
Are there certain things that we should be doing?
Cheers,
pmorrison

I think that by the time we are looking to buy we will have between £30k and £40k in total0

Good stuff - well what you can borrow will vary lender to lender but around 4x joint income is quite achievable assuming no massive outgoings on debts etc.0
