Does change of address trigger re-assessment?

Hubby (NRP) has ongoing complaint with CSA - ICE now involved
We recently moved house and he has tried to phone to advise CSA of new address - not that easy - no-one would take the information from him and insisted he speak to his caseworker (who is never in). Spoke to her line manager today who said that the change of address is a change in circumstances (we rent privately) and therefore would need to have a new assessment. He is CSA2.
His daughter is 18 in July, leave college in June to go to University in September.
Is it just me, or is it totally ridiculous that he has to be reassessed for the remaining 3 payments of his liability?

This really does prove my point about not phoning the csa.
If it really is that difficult to give the csa something as simple as a change of address, then no wonder others have difficulties when dealing with more complicated matters over the phone.
Never phone!
Always write!
Always send letters recorded!(more important stuff by registered mail.... documents etc.)
Always print off delivery notifications from the Royal Mail website!
Keep copies of everything!
Don't lose anything! (both yours and their correspondence)0 -
Technically, a change of address is a change of circumstances. However, I fail to see what difference it'll make, since housing costs are not relevant to CS2 cases, unless they think that you are moving from an outhouse to Blenheim Palace which would imply that his income has change somewhat! In addition, of course, it does seem somewhat pointless as there only a few payments left.
Btw, for the avoidance of doubt, although I mentioned Blenheim Palace, I'm not accusing your husband of being the Duke of Marlborough

a miracle happened - his 'caseworker' phoned back, told him that he wasn't going to be re-assessed as the person he spoke to (the caseworker's line manager) gave him the wrong information.
She also told that when his daughter takes her final exam she has 'technically' left college and he is no longer liable for CSA payments - you beauty, roll on 14th June !0 -

Just a word of warning - as far as I am aware child maintenance is payable as long as child benefits is paid.
My daughter will be starting college in September and so will be technically leaving school in June after the exams end - the child benefits office have made it clear that if she does not go into further education then child benefit will be paid until August.
It might well be that your partner's child maintenance payments will also be due until that August payment.
I would phone them up and check again - if they confirm it then get them to confirm in writing. I would still actually keep those extra couple of months maintenance to one side though because even if the CSA is wrong and give incorrect advice, it seems that you will be the one who has to rectify the mistake.
Good luck and keep us posted.

Child benefit usually continues until the first Monday in September after they finish school unless they work for more than 24 hours per week.0

apparently the caseworker has spoken to the PWC and advised her that she is aware that the last exam is June 18th and that PWC should then notify the Child Benefit office that DD has technically left college on this date
I've cancelled the standing order already - we worked out we would only be liable for two more payments if the CSA argued that payments are required until September so it's not a big deal for us - we will pay it if it's required (in our own time).
Hubby spoke to the caseworker on two occasions and she confirmed again that the 18th of June is technically the last day and is the date that his liability ceases.
We both have ongoing complaints with CSA/ICE so if it turns out that she gave the wrong info, it's something else we can add to the massive list of issues we already have with the t055ers (CSA) !0 -

DD has advised us that she intends to work full time after her exams - but of course that depends if she can find work !0
