Develop sudden-onset deafness when OH mentions "second helpings". (Works for me, anyway LOL)

Have a freezer tub ready along with the plates so when you're serving up meals you can put the leftovers straight into the tub and hopefully stop any second helpings. I hide my tub in the microwave whilst we're eating until it's cool enough to put into the fridge/freezer ;)

I do this too, I think a lot of people have the mindset of having seconds if there's some in the pan, even when not hungry... To be honest we rarely eat what I've just cooked, usually I portion it all up and eat from the freezer! Seems to work for us! DH is a 6 foot 3 bloke with a speedy metabolism, so would just keep on eating if you let him! ;):o

  • Don't go shopping when you are hungry - it's too easy to grab just anything rather than think about what you should be buying because your stomach is taking over from your brain.
  • stop being a loyal customer - to shops and products

Definitely consider buying frozen veg. It's often even cheaper than even seasonal, local stuff and with no waste.
