Hi everyone, just checked my credit score and found that I was listed as being 'one month late or one month in arrears' with a mortgage payment due in April 09. I am on a deal of 0.66 below Base rate so the mortgate in question reduced to no monthly payment due from April. Just wondered if anyone else has had experience of this.

you need to speak to your lender straight away on this, speak to a manager straight away and go balistic, it's outrageous that they should do this assuming they have told you that you didn't need to make a payment.Happily an ex mortgage broker!0

It's taken me three months to get Barclays to remove a '3 months plus' arrears notice from my credit file, for a month when I (cashed in an endowment and) paid £24,000 off the balance, and kept the erroneous arrears notice on my file for a year - still waiting to hear how they plan to make up for this.
Act now with your lender, sign up to the free trials of experian and equifax (ideally through cashback sites!), check your report daily until they remove the incorrect notice.
I was turned down for a credit card and a credit limit increase whilst this was on my file.Mortgage Free thanks to ill-health retirement0 -
Thanks for the advise -spoken to the mortgage company this morning, they looked into it and rung me back within 20 minutes to say it was their mistake and a letter of correction will be sent out this afternoon. Impressed by their efficiency to correct the mistake so far. Will keep an eye on my credit score and hopefully will be sorted soon.

Your credit rating can be destroyed in a second..... but it takes months to get it repaired, even when you are blameless.
The client is always guilty until proven innocent, where credit files are concerened:rolleyes:I am a Mortgage adviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a Mortgage Adviser, so you need to take my word for it.
