My new Life - Week One

HURRAY!
Cleared hurdle one and pegging it up towards the next!!!!
If I make it through the rest of the day (which I will ) I will have competed week one of my money saving life.
I've changed bank accounts spent less than a tenner two weeks running (money in purse) and spend less than a tenner on food shopping.
You see I've had a light bulb moment. I know it's sad but I don't have much of a social life (all together now... awwwwwwww)!!! Yet still my money disappears. Well now I have decided that I am not going to let that happen any more.
And because I feel money empowered- I am feeling better about other things too. I actually managed to make BF empty the dishwasher last night rather than put dirty pots on the bench - and that was on top of him making tea!!!
I have decided that the things I really enjoy doing are being with my dog and coaching. So from now on, I am going to organise my life around doing these things without having any extra stresses from other things - ie work and money.

Well done Louise30,
You seem much happier than you were and have got your priorities in the right order.
Weird isn't it, when you stop and think what makes you happy, that its not always the things that cost a fortune.
I joined my local library the other day which is 50 metres from my house and they have free internet there and have got a few books for free! Was soo happy.
You'll be much happier with your new life - keep going!

:T Congratulations! :T
I love the way saving some money has made you feel better about other things. I know how that feels. Its a kind of 'rolling' effect isn't it. You feel good about doing one thing and feel more confident in doing another.
Well done & ENJOY your 'new life'. xxSometimes it's important to work for that pot of gold...But other times it's essential to take time off and to make sure that your most important decision in the day simply consists of choosing which color to slide down on the rainbow...0 -
thank you - I like the sound of joining a library - perhaps I can get books to help with my coaching. There is a library two minutes walk from where I work and it would give me something to do in my lunch breaks rather than go shopping!!!0

Yep, exactly. I've lived there for 2 years and never joined the library until now.
And they ordered in a couple of books that I wanted - for free!!
Was surprised at the collection of different books on all sorts of topics that they had. Trying to cut down on amount of time I waste in front of the TV.
I know, I'm only 25 and am sounding about 50!!0 -
Well done!!0

Keep up the good work, it gets hard when you see something in the shops that you would really like. I might wear sunglasses all year so I cant see it! Its worth it in the end when the debts go down, or at least when they dont go up so much.0
