Halp! Mortgage application rejected at credit score stage!

How long is remaining on her spousal visa? I would caution you against wandering blindly from lender to lender hoping to bump into one that will do it, as multiple credit searches are just going to impact on your credit score even further.

Just over a year left on the visa iirc. Thanks for the advice.

The only two searches that I have had this year were from HSBC (yesterday) and Cheltenham and Gloucester in January (which was a positive result - but in the end we didn't want to go for the property we had our eye on, probably doesn't make a difference though!).

Got rejected from FD in February - but a credit search wasn't done during that application (again it was an earlier property we decided to not pursue anyway).

I do like the Abbey 10 year fixed deal, but don't want to go through credit checks again so soon.

Any idea if the checks from Lloyds (C&G) in January would still be valid?

Doubt it, I think it would only be valid for 3 months from memory.

It would probably be a good idea to phone Abbey first to see what their criteria are - whether my wife's visa situation would impact a decision.
