First time buyer mortgage help!

Hello everyone
I am looking to get a mortgage with my partner and have a few questions about my credit rating and chances of getting a mortgage.
I have two credit cards which I pay off in full every month. I could get rid of one or both of them, I only got them to build up a credit rating and ease my cashflow. Am I better off getting rid of one or both of them before I apply for a mortgage?
Is there anything I can do in the run-up to getting a mortgage which will improve my chances? (other than win the lottery) I can't see how else I can improve my credit report as I have no missed payments.
Thanks

A bigger deposit saved might improve the credit score with the lender. Is there anything I can do in the run-up to getting a mortgage which will improve my chances? (other than win the lottery) I can't see how else I can improve my credit report as I have no missed payments.
But to actually keep your credit rating clean, keep using, keep paying - make sure every bill is paid on time.
You sound like you're well on the way.
Nice little linky to the main site for more tips.0
