Hi there all,
I've made a lemon drizzle cake, but made a huge foul up with the ingredients!
I was meant to put in 3 tspns bicarb (to offset the acidity of the lemon I think) but in my tired state I read it as 3 tablespoons, and I heaped them...:o
So the cake is really odd tasting, bitter and bicarby. Is there anything I can do? Bicarb is alkaline right? Can I drizzle more lemon juice over the cake- ie add acidity to balance it, and make it into a desert?
Thanks in advance for any tips/links to other threads.

I've done this before - great looking cakes - weirdest (and not nice) taste
I couldn't rescue any of mine (they were cupcakes) but some of the family (definitely not me though) were able to eat them with jam so maybe something sweet might help? Like icing sugar icing?

I think it's a lost cause Weezl. On the plus side at least it won't give you indigestion:D0
