Address issues in Equifax (please help)

Hi All. Apologies if this is in the wrong thread but I'm trying to get debt free so it seems appropriate lol.

I registered with experian on a free trial and everything seems ok, I noticed it isn't showing two of my credit cards which is a bit odd, decided I'd take the free trial on equifax as well just to see if that's any clearer.

Now here's the problem. I was asked for my previous address, I entered it in and it came up with an error, there's a drop down list for me to choose my address and it's not on there. The flat I used to live in isn't a new place and it's been there for about 20 years but Equifax doesn't recognise it. This does seem to tie in with a recent application for credit I made with Abbey, I got accepted and all the forms came back with this rogue address on it, it's similar to mine but not quite the same. I ammended the forms and sent them back to Abbey who then changed their decision to a refusal, I'm guessing it's because they couldn't find the right address on Equifax so it caused a problem.

I obviously won't give the full address but I can give an example of the problem, I lived at Flat 2, ******* Court, ******** Road, Hereford, and the address that is on Equifax is Flat 2, ******* House, ******** Street, Hereford. I guess it gets even more confusing as the flats suffixed Court are in the gardens of the Flat with the suffix house. I'm amazed the forms got to me.

So to sum up I need to know if I can get a correct address added to equifax and how I go about doing this. I can't currently join as it doesn't recognise my second address so won't let me complete my registration, therefore I can't fill in an online help form as I'm not a member. Does anyone have a contact for them or has anyone had a similar issue?

Thanks in advance, Ricky.

Have you looked up both of the addresses on Royal mail postcode search to see if they exist.

I would also email experian and equifax and explain the situation once you can determine the difference between the 2 addresses.
