and white*star probably cos I ended up with her win.
We took the children to see HSM on stage at the Lowry tonight. Now, my two are 4y 2m and 2y10m so we were taking a bit of a gamble but we formulated a plan to ensure they weren't too tired - they had an early night last night, they went swimming this morning and had a huge pasta lunch to make them sleepy and put them to bed whereupon my daughter slept so long we had to wake her up and her elder brother slept for more than 2 hours. Result!
Got there early and took them for Pizza at Pizza Express (using a voucher on 2 for 1 mains). They kept asking where HSM was. Once we got in the Lowry, we discovered they did free booster seats for kids so obtained two so they could see the stage which were fab (even tho there were only children in front of them).
The only problem was there was a random Tweenie (who are there in a few weeks) and it terrified my daughter as she doesn't like costumed characters at all. She did go and say hello to it eventually but even then screamed the place down after.
During the show, they were really good and much less fidgety than I thought they would be. They were more fidgety in the second half where the whole thing moves a bit more slowly but they stayed sat down most of the time (tho my son had a little dance towards the end!). My daughter got talking to a lady nearby during the interval and she couldn't believe how well she was behaved. She did sit on my lap near the end having sat on Daddy's but that was partly due to the Wildcat on stage and as I said, she doesn't like people in costumes like that!
It was a great show and even Daddy enjoyed it; they obviously seemed to have some touches aimed at the adults.
My children came out asking when they could go to see HSM again!
Thanks for the comp anyway! Everyone had a great time and my kids proved they know when they have to behave themselves to get a special treat.

She didn't. She didn't find her original WEM and the guy from the site emailed again to say he'd have to redraw the prize - then got in touch with me, and it just so happened that I could take the tickets. Often, my husband works Monday nights but it worked out that he wasn't working at all yesterday so we could go.
