GOOD 250GB External Hard Drive - £84.99

We've seen a few external drives on offer recently but this Seagate model from eBuyer seems to have it all.
It offers 7200rpm speed coupled with an 8MB cache and comes complete with the highly-rated BounceBack backup software.
Delivery is extra; the amount depends on how fast you want it.

You get awesome warranty service from Seagate - a while ago I returned a friend's 60 Gig HDD - over a year old though installed less than a year - it was quickly replaced with an 80 Gig unit! The Seagate website has details of the returns procedure.
Can I help?

You might consider buying a Linksys NSLU2. It's also got a group of hackers who've turned it into a mini Linux computer!Time is an illusion - lunch time doubly so.0 -
Amazon have the Western Digital 250GB NetCenter for £113.12 which is a lot less than I've seen it elsewhere. It can be used as a printserver too.0

That is not what is required - it only has a USB interface so cannot attach to a network, merely a computer. But you could attach it to a network via the device I mentioned earlier.Time is an illusion - lunch time doubly so.0

Worth pointing out that the NLSU-2 (or slug as it is affectionately known) uses a unix file system that is incompatible with windoze. That is, you wouldn't be able to unplug the USB drive from the slug and plug it straight into a windows PC (well, you would but no data would be recognised).0

Apparently it supports NTFS on ONE of the ports with the latest firmware. If you have to format your other drive with something else (like ext3), you can get free drivers for Windows which will recognise this. Awkward, I know, as you won't be able to plug the drive into any old Windows PC.Time is an illusion - lunch time doubly so.0
