Can I stay with current GP if I moved out of catchement area?

Hi, I moved house 6 years ago, a few miles further away and have never changed my GP. It helps though that I am still registered under my Mum's address and can still get letters (smear results etc.) and calls are passed on too. It is rubbish when you like your GP. I will probably have to change eventually as hoping to move at some point (20+ miles away).0

Thanks all. Yes, I am sure we would still come under the same hospital - it is the same PCT, and the hospital is probably closer than any of GP surgeries!!!! Will have to go in one evening and talk nicely to receptionist... At the moment I am just telling them I am still at my old address!!! Don't feel good doing that, but I hope we can resolve it soon!Spring into Spring 2015 - 0.7/12lb0

i moved house about 2 years ago, and didnt change GP. I was pregnant at the time, and there was a bit of confusion after baby was born to do with health visitors that were coming to do home visits. turned out that i could stay with GP but used health visitor from local practice to my home as i was about 1/2mile outside my GPs area!!
I suppose it depends on the surgery!??Carla-Farla!!
