I think this is a stupid question but I don't know the answer! Is it ok/best to freeze homemade chickpea burgers before they are cooked? Also how I do you freeze chickpeas? I read about freezing them on a tray so they dont stick together but I have a really small freezer with no space..please help!

Hi there,
I don't see why you couldn't freeze them before cooking. I would. You could pop a small sheet of greaseproof paper between each one to stop them sticking together and then stack them in numbers you know you will use per meal and put them in freezer bags. HTH. You are an early riser!Tess x

I haven't done it for a while, but I have frozen chickpea burgers dozens of times without problem. I coat them in wholemeal flour and freeze them in pairs. Paper between them is a good idea though because occasionally part of it would stick to the other.
Definitely freeze before cooking, not after. Then I'd defrost completely and fry them. Although I'm suddenly wondering why, since I'd grill them from frozen if I'd bought them... :think:May all your dots fall silently to the ground.0
