Hi
My stepmother died in 2007 intestate, without life assurance leaving 3 minors. They were obviously unable to make mortgage payments from the time of death and the house was empty until it recently sold. Throughout this period and despite being very near negative equity the HSBC were a pleasure to deal with. Every letter asking for an update was kind and supportive and they made a bad situation less stressful.
Had she not been intestate we could have secured a sale much earlier so anyone out there without a Will beware!
