How can I tag or lable homecrafted items?

I have crocheted quite a few amigurumis now and would like to label them, "put my mark" on them some how.
Was hoping that someone here could give me a couple of ideas.
Perhaps also what to write on them.
I was thinking perhaps cardboard label attached with a string and a safety needle. Handwritten message saying - Handcrafted by greenpixey or perhaps I can have labels custom printed and sew them on? (not very moneysaving)
Most of the Amigurumis are to be given away as gifts, (I haven't made the patterns and haven't got the makers permission to sell the finished product).
Here are two pictures, just to give you an idea what they look like.

Miffy is 4" tall and Hello Kitty is 8"

Hi greenpixey,
Someone I know sews nursing covers, she has a lovely little label which she sews on which says "Hand made with tender loving care by *****", I thought that was really sweet. May be a bit sickly-sweet for some! I think the idea of the cardboard label is a nice one too, but it's nice to have something sewn (sp?!) on so that if they are played with or used then the label is still on there, especially if it's given as a gift from you.
Hope this helps a little! They are gorgeous!

Thanks for your reply.
Was getting a bit worried & paranoid(...runs away and hide ..:o) that perhaps they weren't good enough to give away as gifts when I saw 45 views and no replies.
I like the idea of your friends label, I've found something similar on ebay 50lables for £5.99.
I just wish I could think of something a bit more rustic and less "shop bought" like.
I rarely get the chance to buy hand made/home crafted items so I dont know how they are displayed, that's why I turned to this forum to get some ideas.
I'm working on my own patterns and creatures and hoping to sell some on a craft fare later this year.0 -

I think they're lovely! If you don't know who to give them too I'd give them a good home!
How about a ribbon loop like a label with a stitched 'mark' on it (simple cross or heart), then with a cardboard label that matches and has more explanation. Or print on cotton ribbon with a mini stamp and permenant ink. Think Ds have lovely mini stamp sets at craftsuperstore.co.uk
good luck x0 -
There is a website moo.com which prints little minicards where you can add a logo/design etc. On their website the show how people have used them in different way, including with crafts and that. I'm not sure how you would attach them though. I thnk they'd make nice gifts!0

Thank you. I absolutely love the mini cards they are sooo cute
although a bit pricey, 100 for £9.99. I might buy some to promote myself at the craft fare instead of using business cards. 0
